Nature Masterpieces  from the Ashes and Snow series by Gregory Colbert

Gregory Colbert is a canadian photographer and director with undeniable talent. With his project Ashes and Snow, he provides us with sepia colored photographs taken during his travels. Images traveling around the world with a nomadic museum, the “Nomadic Museum”.

"In exploring the shared language and poetic sensibilities of all animals, I am working towards rediscovering the common ground that once existed when people saw themselves as part of nature and not outside of it. The destiny of whales cannot be separated from the destiny of man, and the destiny of man cannot be separated from the destiny of all of nature. I am exploring new narratives that help build a bridge across the artificial boundaries we have established between ourselves and other species". Gregory Colbert.

Gregory Colbert’s Ashes and Snow feature film captures extraordinary moments of contact between people and animals as seen through the lens of the artist’s camera on more than thirty expeditions to some of the earth’s most remote places. Written, directed, produced, and filmed by Gregory Colbert, it is a poetic field study that depicts the world not as it is, but as it might be—a world in which the natural and artificial boundaries separating humans from other species do not exist. The viewing experience is one of wonder and contemplation, serenity, and hope.

Colored Pencil Eye  by  artist Redosking

Illusion has been known for featuring a lot of eye art, Other than the heart and genital areas, the eye is also a popular organ drawn by artists, possibly because there is fascination and truth to it being “the Window to the Soul.” Artist Redosking is another fine hyperrealist who looks closely at details of the iris, cornea and eyelids.

Texas-based graffiti artist Redosking draws fantastically detailed eyes using colored pencils. It seems like eyes are a common muse for illustrators working in the realm of hyperrealism but these particular  by .pieces seem above and beyond the average attempt.
